Little Mix on new music: 'We wanted to change the game'

Girl group Little Mix have revealed that the reason it took them so long to release new material, which came in the form of their new single 'Black Magic', was because they wanted to find something that would surprise the world.

Speaking to Digital Spy about their new music and new style, the beauties explained that they were aiming to create something that their fans really weren't expecting and believe they have achieved that goal: "It took so long because we were looking for something that would surprise people. We wanted to change the game a bit, and 'Black Magic' is very pop."

They were also asked about the single's accompanying music video and member Jade Thirlwall admitted that they had the idea in mind while recording the track:

"Yeah, whenever we write and record songs we always picture a video and what it's going to be like. We always wanted it to be more fun and taking the mick out of ourselves a bit, so us and the label came up with the whole high school chick-flick idea. We've never been able to do something like that before, so it was really new for us. It was all very exciting."
