Perrie Edwards' mother: 'Zayn's decision to quit 1D was his own'

Deborah Edwards, mother of Little Mix beauty Perrie, has revealed that her daughter had nothing to do with fiancé Zayn Malik's decision to quit boyband One Direction.

Speaking to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, Deb explained: "It was his decision and nothing to do with Perrie."

She went onto add that Malik feels like part of the family and she cares a lot about him: "They've always been happy. Zayn's one of the nicest boys I've ever met and I couldn't imagine Perrie with anyone else. I feel like he's already my son, they've been together since she was on 'The X Factor' so he's part of the family."

Deb Edwards also confessed that she doesn't think Perrie and Zayn are going to rush their wedding: "They've got plenty of time (to get married). They're still young. I visit quite a lot to cook them Sunday roasts. She could be like, 'Mam, I'm upset, take the day off and spend it with me,' and I would."
