Perrie Edwards has opened up on meeting her idol Johnny Depp.

The singer told The Sun that she was previously lined up to meet the A-list actor and musician at a barbecue.

However, that fell through - but she did manage to rub shoulders with Depp more recently.

Suggesting that she met him with former fiancé Zayn Malik, Edwards said:

"Me and Mr Depp have hung out. We were meant to go to his house for a barbecue, but I think we were flying back from America so couldn't go.

"Instead Johnny said, 'Oh I'm in the studio today with Alice Cooper, why don't you come down?' We went and hung out with them for a bit. I went with what's-his-face.

"I was like, 'I am going to meet him whether you want to go or not'.

"So we went and he is just the nicest guy. He is so cool. I love him."

Little Mix meanwhile will release their third album 'Get Weird' on November 6.
