Little Mix want new album to 'empower' female fans

Little Mix have revealed that one of the main aims for their new album was to "empower" women.

The girl group released their third record 'Get Weird' on November 6.

Speaking to Yahoo at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards on Sunday (November 8), the quartet said they wanted the album to give confidence to female listeners.

Jesy Nelson said: "That’s definitely what we wanted, that’s how we want our fans to feel, 100%."

When asked if they had advice for their female fans, Leigh-Anne Pinnock said:

"Just be confident and believe in yourself. Know there is only one of you and you are unique and amazing and rock it."

'Get Weird' meanwhile features the lead track 'Black Magic', which reached No.1 in the UK earlier this year.

The Brits will tour their record in regions such as Europe and Australia in 2016.

The UK and Ireland leg of the run will open in Cardiff on March 13.
