'Royals' songstress Lorde has revealed that style is something that adds another dimension to her stage persona so she loves to dabble in fashion and is starting to figure out what really works for her. 

Speaking to the March 2014 edition of Vogue, the rising star explained that fashion allows her to feel a sense of power and strength that she otherwise doesn't have:

"The kind of clothes that I've found I like to wear over the past year and six months have all been things that make me feel powerful and strong. I wear a lot of pants. I wear a lot of long, structured dresses."

Lorde also addressed the fact that now she's becoming famous people will look up to her as a role model, adding that she's very aware of her status and how what she says might influence fans: "It’s a fine line between being a role model and preaching to people. I never want to tell anyone how they should be, especially not someone my age."

"But, that being said, I’m conscious of the fact that people my age are reading what I say and listening to what I say, and that’s cool -- particularly for the girls who are into what I do."
