Lorde passes the 1 million sales mark with debut album 'Pure Heroine'

New Zealand songstress Lorde has passed the 1 million sales mark with her debut album, 'Pure Heroine', it has been confirmed.

The record has become first debut set to do so since last October as country star Hunter Hayes achieved this incredible feat last year. Neilsen SoundScan has revealed that 'Pure Heroine' now boasts total sales of 1.01 million.

Perhaps more impressively, Lorde is also now the first woman to have her debut album hit 1 million in sales since April 2011 after Adele's '19' managed the same figure. Katy Perry's new offering, 'Prism', reached a million earlier this year.

The 'Team' hitmaker recently announced plans to tour the UK and explained that she aims to book some shows in the country this year: "I love coming here in general, so it would probably be a good idea to book some shows here. But I should be back this year."
