Lorde is the latest name to be added the line-up for this year's Billboard Music Awards.

The music awards ceremony is due to be held in Las Vegas on May 18 and a host of big names such as Miley Cyrus and 5 Seconds of Summer have already been confirmed to perform.

'Royals' star Lorde has now joined the bill and it will be the first time the New Zealander has performed 'Tennis Court' on television.

Other names meanwhile due to feature at the Billboard Music Awards include Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Jason Derulo.

It was confirmed meanwhile on Thursday (May 8) that Michael Jackson will unleash a "world premiere experience" at the event.
