Lorde has insisted that she mocked Diplo's manhood on Twitter because they are good friends.

The DJ and producer posted on Twitter last week (November 12) a link to a crowdfunding campaign called 'Get Taylor Swift A Booty'.

The page reads: "Taylor Swift Still Needs Your Help! Any true supporter of TSWIFT would definitely not pass up this opportunity to improve her posterior! Spread The Word If You Believe In Magic!"

Lorde, who is good friends with Swift, took offence to the link and replied to Diplo: "Should we do something about your tiny penis while we're at it hm."

The 'Royals' star has now told Fader that her comments were all in jest, saying:

"I love Wes [Pentz, Diplo's real name] and he's a big brother to me and one of my first friends in the industry, and part of having a friendship with someone like that is not letting them say stupid sh*t."

"Taylor's my friend as well, and I'm a girl, and if I see some weird body-shaming on my feed I'm going to be like, 'Hey man…' We do still love each other, hopefully."
