Lorde says Nicki Minaj dropped out of Hunger Games soundtrack

Lorde has revealed that Nicki Minaj pulled out of appearing on the new Hunger Games soundtrack.

The 18-year-old curated the album to upcoming flick The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

Speaking in a new interview with MTV, the New Zealander said that Minaj had to back out of the project because she was too busy.

Lorde said: "Nicki was going to do a thing, which was going to be amazing, but she's obviously super-deep in her album, which is going to be awesome, and even if I couldn't get a song I'm happy we're going to get a new Nicki Minaj album to listen to at the gym for six months."

The rapper has been busy working on her new album 'The Pink Print', which is set for a December 15 release.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 meanwhile is released in UK cinemas today (November 20).
