Lorde forced to axe Lollapalooza headline set due to severe thunderstorm

Lorde has admitted that she was “gutted” yesterday after she was forced to cancel her Lollapalooza headline set due to a severe thunderstorm.

The New Zealand singer-songwriter was set to headline the Bud Light stage at the festival, but had to axe her set after drenched festival goers had to evacuate Grant Park in Chicago. The star announced:

“I guess the festival has said the weather is too crazy for us to play right now.

Lorde tweeted that she would return at a later date, saying:

“Fucks sake. i am so gutted guys i don’t know what to tell you.

“They’ve told us we can’t play. I had the most spectacular show planned for you and I PROMISE I will come back to play it as soon as I can.

“Looking into the possibilities of a club show but i want you guys to see full tank show. Will keep you posted.”

The star recently announced a North American tour in support of "Melodrama". The massive arena tour includes stops in 30 cities and tickets went on sale last Friday (June 23).
