TROP BLANCO TOPS CHERUB FOR NO. 1 SPOT ON DIGTRACKS R&B CHARTKnoxville, TN - September 17, 2016
After a tedious week of contending for prime real estate on the Digtracks r&b chart, Trop Blanco finally made her way to No. 1 with her latest single "I Like." The story however, doesn't lie within the battle for the No. 1 spot. It lies in the coincidence that both artists duking it out for the top spot are both Tennessee natives. The electro-indie duo from Nashville, Tennessee, Cherub peaked at No. 1 on the charts with their latest single "Signs" featuring platinum selling rap artist T.I.. Trop Blanco (of Knoxville, Tennessee) followed shortly after, stealing the No. 1 spot away with "I Like" and since then the two have exchanged the top spot a total of 3 times in under 24 hours. She has also been featured by Spotify in one of their top playlists (Fresh Finds:Fire Emoji), which increased her Spotify audience to over 3K monthly listeners. Not a large number compared to some of Spotify's most streamed artists, but for a new comer with a release that is less just approaching the 30 day mark, this can definitely be considered a major leap towards a RIA certification. On October 4, Trop Blanco is scheduled to appear on WESS FM's Heart 2 Heart with Cherry Poppins to talk about her recent success. Trop Blanco looks to dethrone Epic Records recording artist Kat Deluna who most recently bumped Usher out of the top spot with her latest record "What A Night." She has also began booking her public relations tour to promote the single and is scheduled to appear on the Heart 2 Heart show with Cherry Poppins on WESS 90.3 FM, Pennsylvania. "I Like" is paving a path for the sensational young recording artist, gaining features from Spotify on their official playlist Fresh Finds, highlighting the freshest rap and r&b up next surfaced by official Spotify tastemakers. The single has also been featured by Raps and Hustles, Hip Hop Relevant and Raving Koko since it's release.
