Marina and the Diamonds has teased new material.

The singer - also known as Mariana Diamandis - uploaded a short clip to Instagram entitled 'Froot'.

She had previously tweeted "1st song" before showcasing the music preview.

Marina and the Diamonds' last album came in the shape of 2012's 'Electra Heart'.

It was her second album as the singer followed on from her 2010 debut 'The Family Jewels'.

Diamandis meanwhile last year admitted that she had essentially "bankrupted" her label 679 Recordings.

The singer told a Canadian newspaper during her second album campaign that there wasn't enough finances left to release her remaining videos:

"I've bankrupted my label (apparently) so we have no money, but we're going to do it and finish this era the way I want to. Where there's a will, there's a way!"
