American band Maroon 5 have tied a record previously set by songstress P!nk on Billboard's Adult Pop Songs chart.

The rockers have matched P!nk's amount of No.1 singles, which is a hefty 8, for the first time in the Nielsen BDS-based chart's 17-year history. Maroon 5's 'Love Somebody' climbed to the top spot this week, giving the band their eighth No.1 single on the Adult Pop Songs rundown.

P!nk reached her eigtht No.1 back in May with 'Just Give Me A Reason', which also features Nate Ruess from fun.

'Teenage Dream' beauty Katy Perry currently has enjoyed 7 No.1 singles on the chart and Nickelback are just behind with a total of 5. P!nk could reclaim her record, however, as her latest release with Lily Allen on 'True Love' is climbing higher and could be her ninth chart-topper.
