Matt Cardle will go "back to the drawing board" after new single debuts at No.6

Matt Cardle has admitted that he will go "back to the drawing board" after his single 'Run For Your Life' only managed to climb as high as No.6 in the UK singles chart.

The record entered just one position outside of the Top 5 and despite its heavy promotion failed to make a significant impact, although it did very well to fall within this week's top 10.

Cardle faced incredibly tough competition from Maroon 5's 'Moves Like Jagger', Gym Class Heroes' 'Stereo Hearts' and Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris' 'We Found Love'.

Speaking to London newspaper Metro about how 'Run For Your Life' fared in its first week of release, he said "I will just have to go back to the drawing board with it and think what happened".
