Musician James Bourne, of McBusted fame, has revealed that while people are making jokes about One Direction's impending hiatus, the boyband are not to be laughed at because they have an incredible list of achievements to their name. 

Bourne took to his official Twitter page last night and told his followers that most bands will never enjoy the success that 1D have seen in the last 5 years:

"1D have achieved more in 5 years than multiple bands achieve in multiple lifetimes. The jokes are funny but they've smashed it. And people who use the word "shelf life" must be confused. A tuna sandwich has a shelf life. A pop group can get back together."

The British Phonographic Industry also shared a tweet about One Direction's impressive milestones: "Best of luck to @OneDirection. They’re going on a break with 3 Multi-Platinum, 3 Platinum, 4 Gold & 4 Silver #bpiAwards under their belts!"
