McBusted have confirmed plans to headline Hyde Park next year.

The UK pop supergroup will play the iconic London venue on July 6 with US stars Backstreet Boys supporting.

It forms part of the Barclaycard British Summertime Series of events due to take place at the outdoor venue next year.

The band - comprised of McFly and Busted's James Bourne and Matt Willis - confirmed the news at a press conference today (December 9). They tweeted:

"MCBUSTED ARE HEADLINING @BSTHydePark on Sunday 6th July....Tickets go on sale Friday at 9am!"

Although the tweet was originally deleted, the event's organisers have since confirmed the news on their website.

Barclaycard British Summertime Series meanwhile have also announced that Neil Young & Crazy Horse will perform at Hyde Park on July 12.

They will be supported by The National, Tom Odell, Caitlin Rose, Phosphorescent and Flyte.
