After recently denying rumours that he is currently dating singer Ellie Goulding, McFly’s Dougie Poynter has now revealed the truth about the pair’s relationship status.

The bassist opened up to the Daily Mail to admit that he and Goulding have been together since 2013.

Dougie stated: “We’ve been seeing each other since last year. Ellie’s a great girl, such a lovely person and a breath of fresh air in this industry.”

He went on: “In the music industry you always bump into the same people, so it’s nice when you get to meet other musicians you like and want to spend time with.”

Despite his denial whilst appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, when he claimed he and the ‘Burn’ singer were just "friends" – the musical couple were spotted leaving the set of The Graham Norton Show hand-in-hand earlier this week.
