McFly lament Busted comparisons

McFly have revealed their frustration at constantly being compared to Busted - but they can understand why people liken the two pop-rock groups.

Both acts emerged at roughly the same time in the early 2000s and they have often been closely aligned, despite McFly greatly outliving Busted, who disbanded in 2005.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Tom Fletcher admitted that people bringing up their peers on the street is still irksome. He said:

"What got annoying was the jokes in the street, which we will get even today. We were on the same record label, we had the same management and they were the reason that we were able to break through. We even toured with them and James [Bourne] co-wrote most of our album."

He added: "It was an amazing time and they were vital to our success."
