McFly and Busted hint at supergroup

McFly and Busted could be about to form a supergroup.

The two pop-rock bands were active at around the same time in the early 2000s and they recently performed a few songs together live for McFly's tenth anniversary celebrations.

It seems that 'McBusted' could be one step closer to forming semi-permanently, with Digital Spy reporting that the two acts will hold a joint press conference on Monday (November 11).

An invite for the event says that the "ultimate pop supergroup is coming" as the two acts announce their plans for 2014.

Members of McFly and Busted's Matt Willis and James Bourne will attend the event, whilst Emma Willis will host.

'McBusted' performed Busted's 'Year 3000' and 'Air Hostess' at the Royal Albert Hall earlier this year, as well as McFly's 'Shine A Light'.

Busted were without Charlie Simpson - who left the band to form alt-rockers Fightstar - for the live team-up and it seems he will sit out of any potential supergroup.
