McBusted have joked that One Direction should get in on their pop supergroup action too.

The band recently formed when McFly and Busted's Matt Willis and James Bourne teamed up to announce a 2014 UK tour.

Tickets for their dates went on sale today (November 15) and it piqued interest from One Direction's Louis Tomlinson on Twitter, who is self-confessed Busted fan.

He said: "Amazing news about @mcbusted! When can I come watch a show haha!?"

This prompted an enthused response from McFly's Danny Jones, who suggested: "Ahaaaa yeh mate…. We should do a superdooper group with you guys haha 👍 #onemcbusted."

The One Direction man then replied: "Mate now there's an idea! With a little work we might even be able to compete with the likes of Blazing squad..."

McBusted meanwhile are due to perform on Children In Need tonight (November 15).
