ROBBIE WILL PLAY A SPECIAL ONE-OFF CELEBRATORY SHOW AT LONDON’S TROXY ON NOVEMBER 7, PRESENTED BY THE SWISS PREMIUM COFFEE BRAND «CAFE ROYAL». THE LIVE SHOW WILL BE AIRED IN DECEMBER ON ITV.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS, whose new album “The Heavy Entertainment Show” will be released on November 4, will be honoured with the prestigious BRITs Icon Award, following in the footsteps of Sir Elton John and David Bowie.

The award is the highest accolade given by the BRIT Awards. It is only presented to artists whose writing, recording and performances have set them apart as having made a lasting impact on British culture, recognising the very highest level of achievement in music.

To celebrate this landmark award, Robbie will play a special, intimate one-off London show at the Troxy on November 7.  This unique event will then be televised by ITV in a special 90 minute show to be aired in December.

The gala concert will feature performances of many of Robbie’s classic hits, along with unique collaborations, highlights from Robbie’s new album and many surprises. The show will also include a candid interview with Robbie and interviews with key figures who have influenced his career and his life.

Tickets will be available next Monday 10th October through www.robbiewilliams.com and the Troxy box office www.troxy.co.uk . They are priced at £100 (circle seating) and £85 (ground floor standing).

Robbie said today: “It’s a real honour for me to be given this award and I can’t want to play songs from my new album, and from my catalogue, at the Troxy on 7th November. The BRIT Awards are very special to me, and I’m humbled to be receiving the 18th of my career next month.”

Geoff TaylorChief Executive BPI and BRIT Awards, said: “Robbie is our most successful-ever BRIT Award winner  – with a remarkable 17 BRIT Awards to date.  His enduring appeal and his exceptional track record of hit singles and albums give him a special place at the very heart of British popular music.  His songs have become part of the fabric of our modern culture, while his renowned live performances have forged a unique bond with the public at home and fans around the world.  He is one of our greatest ambassadors and we are proud to recognise his exceptional talents with our highest accolade – A BRITs Icon Award. We look forward to celebrating his achievements with a spectacular show on ITV.”

He has sold 77 million albums worldwide and six of his albums appear in the all time Top 100 biggest selling albums in the UK. Robbie has had 14 No 1 singles, most recently 2012’s ‘Candy’. About the BPI - Promoting British Music

The BPI owns and organises the prestigious BRIT Awards, and is also home to the Mercury Prize, the Platinum, Gold and Silver Awards and the Official Charts, which it co-owns with the retailers’ association ERA.  Substantial proceeds from BRIT Awards events go to the BRIT Trust, the BPI’s charitable arm that has donated over £16m to music education and other charitable causes since its foundation in 1989, including The BRIT School, Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy and War Child.

The BPI was formed in 1973 as a representative voice of the UK recorded music business.  As a trade association it promotes recorded music in the UK and worldwide, and champions the rights and interests of a broad range of members, including 372 independent music labels and the UK’s three major record companies – which collectively in 2015 accounted for over 80 per cent of the recorded music consumed in the UK – the world’s third largest music market – and around one in every six albums sold worldwide.
