ASTRID S STARS IN HER MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE ‘SUCH A BOY’

VIDEO ALSO FEATURES STAR OF NORWEGIAN TV SHOW SKAM - HERMAN TØMMERAAS AKA ‘PENETRATOR CHRIS’

“Her plain-spoken confidence is at the core of her inventive, wobbly synth pop…Excellent” – The Fader
“Slick, playful but elegiac electro-pop” – NME
“Laced with vivid pop melodies” – Clash

Today Astrid S releases the new video for single ‘Such A Boy’ – the latest single taken from her new EP ‘Party’s Over’. ‘Such A Boy’ was co-written by Astrid and Cass Lowe (ZAYN, Snakehips, Flume, MØ) and has already seen tremendous success – with a feature on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist, eleven top 5 playlist placements and more than 1.8 million streams on Spotify since its release.

The music video was shot in various locations around Stockholm with director Andreas Öhman and production company Naïve. Herman Tømmeraas, from internationally-successful Norwegian TV drama SKAM, stars alongside Astrid in the video, playing her love interest.

On working together for the music video, Astrid said:

“I have been very excited to release this music video. It was incredibly fun to work with the same people as I did on the music video for ‘Hurts So Good’. Herman and I had a lot of fun shooting the video and I'm very glad he said yes to be a part of the it. I feel that we got the message in the lyrics across and I am very happy with the result!” – Astrid S

Herman Tømmeraas said: “Astrid is, in my opinion, one of the best artists we have in Norway. She is also a good friend of mine. Since we became friends, we've joked about working together at some point and I am so happy we could do it on this music video. The whole weekend of shooting was just a great time and I hope to be working with Astrid again sometime.”

On working with Astrid and Herman, director Andreas said:

“As a director you want to experience magic on set, and I believe we found that through the chemistry of Astrid and Herman. Working with them on ‘Such a Boy’ was an absolute delight - with Herman’s vulnerability and Astrid's ‘no bullshit’ look. This is without a doubt the best music video I’ve ever done, and that’s all because of the two talents and the team that worked their asses off. The result is magic realism in neon light. Now I just hope for a sequel so I get to work with them again.”

‘Such A Boy’ is the latest single off Astrid’s new EP ‘Party’s Over’. The six-track EP was released on 30th June and has already seen over 60 million streams so far. ‘Breathe’, the first single to be released from the EP was ‘Tune Of The Week’ on BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills show. The track was produced by Oscar Holter from production team Wolf Cousins (Tove Lo, Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding) and has recently hit over 32 million streams on Spotify alone, while the music video has over 1.2 million views on YouTube.

Last year, Astrid also won the Spellemannprisen Award (Norwegian Grammy Awards) for ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’, was awarded ‘Best Norwegian Act’ at the MTV European Music Awards and was chosen by Popjustice as one of the acts most likely to save pop music in 2017! To date, her music has totalled over 400 million streams worldwide and counting.

Astrid S has recently announced her largest ever headline tour – The Party’s Over World Tour - kicking off this September.
