Meghan Trainor has put herself forward for a role on the next series of the X Factor.

The UK show is currently without two of its four judges after Cheryl and Nick Grimshaw left.

Speaking to KISS FM, the US star said she would love to be part of the programme.

Trainor said: "I would love to do it; I want to do it so bad.

"I'm gonna do it, I will, I promise!"

The X Factor has also lost its hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack.

However, former presenter Dermot O'Leary has agreed to step back into the fray.
