Hyundai Mercury Prize Awards Show: Thursday, 14 September 2017, Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith

The Hyundai Mercury Prize has announced its dates for 2017. The shortlist of twelve Hyundai Mercury Prize 'Albums of the Year' will be revealed at the 'Albums of the Year' Launch event on Thursday, 27 July 2017.

The Hyundai Mercury Prize recognises the best new British music, celebrating artistic achievement across an eclectic range of contemporary music genres.

The Awards Show will held at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith on Thursday,14 September 2017. The event will feature live performances from many of the twelve shortlisted artists.

The evening will culminate in the announcement of the overall winner of the 2017 Hyundai Mercury Prize for Album of the Year.  The Prize's broadcast partner, BBC Music, will be providing live television and radio coverage of the event on BBC Four and BBC Radio 6 Music.

BBC Two will also broadcast a preview documentary on the 2017 Prize in early September.

Hyundai Motor is entering the second year of its title partnership with the Mercury Prize and will be celebrating the shortlisted artists, and continuing to support innovations in British music'.

The Prize's digital music partner, Apple Music, will be promoting the Prize across all its platforms from the shortlist announcement to the Awards Show.

The 2017 Hyundai Mercury Prize will open for entries on Tuesday, 25 April and will close on Friday 19 May at 6pm.

Record labels wishing to submit albums can email entries@mercuryprize.co.uk to receive more information.

Albums by British or Irish artists released between Saturday 30 July 2016 and Friday 21 July 2017 (inclusive) are eligible for entry, although submissions must be received by 19 May 2017.
