Michael Buble nominated for Sony Radio Award

Michael Buble has been nominated for a prestigious Sony Radio Academy Award for his show on Magic 105.4 FM late last year.

The Canadian crooner, who joined the London station to present the Saturday slot for the three months leading up to Christmas, will compete with BBC Radio1’s Fearne Cotton, Radio3’s In Tune, 6Music’s Steve Lamacq and Bauer Radio Scotland’s In Demand for the title of Best Music Programme at the Grosvenor House event on May 14.

The ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ star, who has previously picked up gongs at the Grammys, Junos and American Music Awards, took to the airwaves for nine two-hour shows which included three Christmas specials showcasing tracks from his number one album, 'Christmas.'

Elsewhere, Chris Evans, Christian O’Connell and Adam & Joe picked up two nominations, 6Music, Kerrang! Radio and Radio2 were shortlisted for the UK Station of the Year award, while Chris Moyles, who has won several times at the ceremony, was ignored entirely.
