Michael Bublé: 'My son stops crying when I sing to him'

Canadian crooner Michael Bublé recently welcomed his first son with wife Luisana Lopilato and he has opened up about what it has been like to step into fatherhood.

His son Noah was born on August 27 and he told The Social that he is getting used to changing diapers and looking after the baby, and has also discovered that singing helps to pacify him:

"I sing to him all day and all night. When he's crying with somebody else and I hold him and I sing to him, he just stops. It's really cool. I've become a master at changing poopy diapers. And I can swaddle. I enjoy being swaddled myself!"

Bublé added that being a father is everything he expected and more: "It's been what everybody says it would be. It's the greatest thing that could ever happen. You can't explain it until it happens -- it's like telling somebody what water feels like before they've ever swam in it."

He also confessed that when Noah was first born he didn't experience that "overwhelming feeling of love": "I'm being honest with you. I'd heard all of these stories about how this moment was life-changing, but it wasn't like that for me. I was nervous for my wife, and I was happy that he was healthy... but that day, it was like meeting a stranger. I think that next night, it really clicked. I was looking at him, and all of a sudden, I got it."
