Mumford & Sons take Justin Bieber's U.S. albums chart title with 'Babel'

British folk-rockers Mumford & Sons have broken an impressive U.S. chart record previously held by teen sensation Justin Bieber with their brand new album, 'Babel'.

The band's new record, which shot into No.1 on the UK albums chart, has taken the title of the biggest 2012 debut album from Bieber who earned it after shifting 374,00 copies of his latest offering 'Believe'.

Mumford & Sons sold a staggering 600,000 copies of 'Babel', which propelled it straight to No.1 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart.

Meanwhile, 'Babel' has dropped 1 position to No.2 today (October 3) during Radio 1's Top 40 midweek update and Muse's new record, entitled 'The 2nd Law', has debuted at the top.
