Mumford & Sons match The Beatles’ US chart record

Mumford & Sons have matched The Beatles’ US chart record by scoring six singles simultaneously in the Billboard Hot 100.

The nu-folk outfit, whose second album, ‘Babel,’ reached number one in both the UK and US, have become the first act to achieve such a feat since the Fab Four way back in 1964.

The tracks which have charted, all of which appear on Babel, are 'I Will Wait' (No.57), 'Babel' (No.60), 'Lover's Eyes' (No.85), 'Whispers In the Dark (No.86), 'Holland Road' (No.92), and 'Ghosts That We Knew' (No.94).

The news comes in the same week that the BRIT Award winners also managed to smash the record for the highest first-week album sales of 2012 on both sides of the Atlantic.
