Mumford & Sons already working on new songs

Mumford & Sons have already started working on new songs, just two months since their last album was released.

The band’s second album 'Babel' came out in September and shot straight to number one in the UK and US charts.

An immediate success, 'Babel' was today nominated for the Album of the Year prize at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

With no plans to kick back and relax, the band’s banjo player Winston Marshall told NME: “Will we wait years for the next album? F*** no."

“We’ve just started working on new songs, got a rehearsal studio. They’re bones of songs, but really exciting bones. Sturdy songs.”

The band are currently on the second leg of their 'Tour of Two Halves' across the UK and Ireland.

They will be performing in London, Cardiff, Belfast and Dublin this month, before moving to the U.S. early next year.

Marshall added: "We’re gonna do more 'Gentlemen of the Road Stopover' festivals in 2013.”

This year’s tour concludes at a sell-out gig at London’s O2 arena on December 18.
