Mumford and Sons rocket to No. 1 following Glastonbury

Mumford and Sons have rocketed to the top of the UK album charts with their sophomore record ‘Babel’ following their Sunday headlining slot at Glastonbury Festival.

The Official Charts reports that the album only sold a mere 125 copies more than this week’s runner up Michael Bublé with his album ‘To Be Loved’. This is ‘Babel’’s third non-consecutive week at the top of the charts.

Tom Odell's 'Long Way Down' has dipped to No.3, Editors have debuted at 6 with 'The Weight Of Your Love', and Mumford & Sons' first album, 'Sigh No More', has re-entered at No. 12

Jake Bugg’s self-titled album has climbed 1 position to No.4, Ben Howard's 'Every Kingdom' has risen an 13 slots to No.18, and Kanye West's 'Yeezus' has fallen 15 places to No.21.

Other Glastonbury-assisted re-entries include The Rolling Stones’ ‘Grrr’ at No. 20, Of Monsters and Men at 28, XX’s ‘Coexist’ at 39 and Arctic Monkeys squeaking in at 40 with ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare.
