Musicjelly releases FOUR INTERACTIVE MUSIC VIDEOS AT ONCE
DECONSTRUCT/RECONSTRUCT songs
After working with the Barbican two consecutive years producing visual sampling installations, the Musicjelly artists use their online platform to exhibit a full EP by The Nyco Project, The New Machine II, which includes three interactive music videos, and Cajita’s new remixable video-single Broken Glass.
Both artists filmed all their original recordings and put them together in mosaic/collage video montages so you can DECONSTRUCT/RECONSTRUCT them at will.
The Musicjelly artists call them “D/R videos” or #DRvideos.
Broken Glass interactive single by Cajita
Cajita’s Broken Glass is part of the album Tiny Ghosts. With his “ambient orchestral folktronica”, Broken Glass is a loop-based piece full of interesting sounds which you can mute or solo and spend hours experimenting with all the possible mixing & matching. The single bundle on Bandcamp features a James Yuill remix and a live looped version he did for a session at the mighty Resonance FM.
The New Machine II - interactive EP by The Nyco Project
The Nyco Project are an unusual psychedelic indie band experimenting with the idea of audio-visual cut-ups. Ben Hardy & Zahara Muñoz, lead artists and founders of Musicjelly, use their own independent platform to bring out their EP releases as sets of three interactive music video-collages. The first EP of The New Machine saga, with Fade Away, You're So Weak and The New Machine was a downloadable EP app released with the support of the Arts Council. Listed in the top apps of the week in The Guardian, Music Week's tastemakers called it "genius"; Stereoboard, "bold"; Sound of Confusion, "tantalising and wonderful"; and InvasionMag, "possibly the coolest EP to have ever existed. Ever".
The New Machine II is the second EP in the series, the first one online. . This new interactive EP includes Bathe Me, Blown and She's Only Carbon, three puzzles of evocative grit-pop, alt-rock and psychedelia.
