Nadine Coyle on Girls Aloud split: 'I tried to stop them from quitting'

After their final performance on the reunion tour last night (March 20), Girls Aloud confirmed to their devoted fans that they have decided to leave their band in a past.

The ladies' final show took place in Liverpool yesterday and following the end of their set, a tweet was shared via Girls Aloud's official Twitter page that announced the end of the pop group:

"It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!!"

"Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together."

Today, member Nadine Coyle told her own fans that splitting up wasn't what she wanted and she tried to stop the other singers from making such a definite decision: "You should know by now I had no part in any of this split business. I couldn't stop them. I had the best time & want to keep going. Xxxx"
