Nathan Sykes wants to write for Zayn Malik or One Direction

Former The Wanted star Nathan Sykes has opened up about Zayn Malik's decision to quit One Direction and revealed that he thinks they're now all able to pursue the sounds that appeal to them with integrity.

During an interview with E! News at The Grove in Los Angeles, the 'More Than You'll Ever Know' hitmaker explained that they seem to be happy with the choice as it means that Malik now has creative freedom and the other lads can get back on track with their new record:

"I don't know. I think they're all very focused on the... you know - the 1D boys, on making their own album and Zayn's obviously focused on making his own album."

Sykes also admitted that while it's unlikely he would record a duet with either Zayn Malik or the remaining One Direction members, he would jump at the chance to write for either act: "I'd love to maybe write for them, that'd be great. Obviously they're all great writers as well. Maybe not vocally as a collaboration, but a writing collaboration might not be too far away."
