Singer Nathan Sykes has revealed that he's still 'close' with former girlfriend Ariana Grande. 

Speaking to WonderWall recently, the heartthrob was asked if he's still friends with his 'Love Me Harder' ex-girlfriend and he confessed that they keep in touch: 

"Yeah, of course. When some things don't work out they don't work out. Long distances and stuff like that. On different schedules and touring in different parts of the world. It's like, sometimes it doesn't happen so easily."

Referring to his own relationship status at the moment, Sykes joked: "I'm painfully single. So single it hurts."

He told MTV News that writing a song about his break-up with Grande was cathartic and admitted that the track is 'nice': "It’s not really that heartbreaking — it’s very emotional. It’s just a very nice breakup song. I’m one of those really annoying people who never holds grudges [against] anyone, because what’s the point? There’s no point. It’s really boring and it takes up so much energy — just draining. So it’s a nice breakup song, but really emotional."
