Nathan Sykes: 'I become friends with whoever I'm dating first'

Singer Nathan Sykes has revealed that dating is something he really doesn't enjoy as he finds it quite awkward.

Speaking to Loose Women on ITV, the heartthrob admitted that he tends to befriend girls before getting into relationships with them so there's no dating period really:

"I'm really bad at dating, really bad. I don't date. I always become friends with whoever I'm dating first so it always falls into a relationship... I kind of just trip and fall into, 'oh, we're dating now'! I'm not one of those people who are like I'm going on a date tonight with someone I don't know."

He also recently opened up about being a solo artist and confessed that it's nice to show off his vocal ability: "I think it's really fun and not difficult changing people's expectations of you. Every single performance I do, people are like, 'I didn't realise you could sing like this'. Coming from a band, it's a really refreshing time in my life."

"I didn't know what I was capable of at all. It was only as I started writing the album and hitting new notes on a new level of songwriting. I was connecting emotionally with the lyrics."
