Nathan Sykes: 'In a band you're used to everything being done'

Singer Nathan Sykes has revealed that the most invigorating thing about being a solo artist is that you have complete control over everything.

During a new chat with J-14 in the USA, the 'Over and Over Again' heartthrob admitted that he was used to having everything done and decided for him when he was in The Wanted, so having control has been the biggest difference this time around:

"I'm very much an artist across everything. Especially when you come from a band, you let people do it for you - now I'm very much on top of everything and, at the end of the day, it's my career. If it doesn't happen it's like, 'hey, it's my fault,' so it's your responsibility as an artist to make sure everything's going right and the way you want it to."

When asked about his forthcoming debut solo album, Sykes confessed that it's almost finished and he's just tidying things up before it's released:

"I'm just finishing up the album at the moment... I think it's pretty much there, if I'm honest. I'm just seeing if there's anything that I've missed or anything I could add to it... it's all well and good!"
