Nathan Sykes on why he has some "anti-thank you" messages in his album booklet

Singer and musician Nathan Sykes will release his highly anticipated debut solo album, entitled 'Unfinished Business', on November 4 and he confessed that while writing his album 'thank yous', he also wrote some apologies. 

Chatting to Zach Sang & the Gang recently, the 'Give It Up' heartthrob admitted that when it came to write thank you messages to his loved ones and personal friends, he used the opportunity to say sorry:

"I think the most important ones are to friends and family. My one to my friends is just an apology. It's like an anti-thank you. I'm not going to thank them for being there, so I apologised. I'm like, 'I'm sorry I never answer my phone, I'm sorry I never see you, I'm sorry you contact me and try and come to my gigs and I've got no tickets because I've just given them all away to my family, I'm sorry that I'm the worst person on the planet and when I get back to Gloucester I'm always sleeping!' It was all, like, apologies."

"It's nice to say that I've written everything on it. People will try and figure out who the songs are about, people might read the thank yous and be like, 'oh, that song's about me.' So there's going to be a moment where people take the album in. For my family, as well, seeing me grow as a person - as an artist - over the past couple of years in particular, and getting better vocally all the time and more confident..."
