Nick Jonas: 'Embracing my gay fans was a priority'

'Jealous' singer Nick Jonas has revealed that one of his goals over the last twelve months was to really embrace his extensive gay fanbase and he's proud of the fact that he has achieved it.

Speaking to the Rolling Stone about being a 'gay icon', the heartthrob admitted that he was concerned at how his new grown-up image might alienate the followers that have been loyal to him for years, but was happy to see them supporting and encouraging his new path:

"My goal in the last year was to expand and grow as a person and an artist, and embracing my gay fans was a priority. Some of my gay friends have thanked me for that, and that's a really good feeling. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little fearful (of the backlash from existing fans). But you have to be willing to say, "I know I'm pushing myself, and if not everybody comes with me, that's OK." I'm just thankful that a lot of them did."

When asked by the magazine if the Jonas Brothers are likely to reunite as a band in the future, he replied: "I don't know. My life has changed so much in 12 months that I can't predict what tomorrow is going to bring, you know? It's hard to imagine saying "never." But for this moment in time that I'm in right now, I don't see that happening."
