Nick Jonas on Jonas Brothers: 'I was selfish because the spotlight was on 3 instead of 1, but it was magic'

Heartthrob and singer Nick Jonas addressed Oxford University's Student Union on Monday, February 23 and opened up about kicking off his career as part of a trio with the Jonas Brothers.

Speaking about being part of a successful recording and performing group, the 'Jealous' hitmaker explained that at just 11-years-old he was worried about sharing the spotlight and now feels selfish for having those thoughts: "As we were writing [our first song together] I was fighting this feeling that I had."

"This feeling that this could actually be something amazing. There was some magic and I didn’t quite know what it was about it that could be so great, because I was fighting it."

"Because at 11, 12 years old I was living in fear that this opportunity that I had would be taken away and it would become three instead of one. Selfish, very selfish. Once I accepted it that this was the right thing, because there’s that moment when you have to grow up and accept and acknowledge that there’s a magic in something. And it felt right."

Jonas' forthcoming new single, 'Jealous', is due to be released in the UK later this month on March 30.
