Nick Jonas says brothers Joe and Kevin support his solo sound

Nick Jonas says he has the backing of his brothers as he continues to make strides in his solo career.

The singer released his first album earlier this year following the split of the Jonas Brothers in 2013.

The US star's music sees his sound shift away from Disney pop to a more mature feel.

Speaking to stltoday.com, the 22-year-old said that brothers Joe and Kevin are fans of his solo music.

Jonas said: "I played the record for them about a month before it came out, wanted to kind of get their opinions on what they thought should be singles and overall what their vibe was on it.

"Their opinion meant a lot to me and they both were really supportive...I think I really needed that support going in to feel comfortable to really take that step forward."
