Nick Jonas says he dated Lily Collins.

The singer told The Sun that he saw the daughter of Phil Collins for a short space of time.

He said: "We went out a couple of times.

"She is amazing. We have known each other for years, just running in the same circles."

Jonas added that dating different people has helped him understand himself better.

He said: "I've enjoyed meeting different people and spending time with people with all the cards on the table.

"All people need human interaction at some level. And at my age too, dating is important, getting to know yourself by meeting different people, seeing what it's all about."

Jonas meanwhile will release his new solo album 'Last Year Was Difficult' on June 10.
