The Irish superstar, who is currently enjoying fame all around the world, explained that he can get very stressed out when he's in large groups of people and especially when he gets mobbed or fans crowd around:

"I'm quite claustrophobic and I don't like everyone crowding around and shouting the same questions. I get a little bit scared sometimes. It's all good as we've got a good security team."

Back in 2011, Horan enjoyed some down time in New York City but fans discovered his location and soon swarmed him and fellow One Direction member Liam Payne. Following the ordeal, the 'What Makes You Beautiful' hitmaker took to his official Twitter page and wrote: "This is a complete joke. Ridic. Day off, wana chill."

Earlier this week, the blond singer told We Love Pop magazine that the dynamic between the lads is great and they're at the point now where if they annoy each other it can be discussed without any drama: "We've got to the stage now where we know each other's boundaries. If there's an argument, it's over what's on the radio, or, 'Turn up the window, it's freezing'."

The singer is often plagued by rumours that suggest he will start a solo career and leave the 'Kiss You' group behind.

Speaking to heat magazine, Styles reiterated his commitment to One Direction and expressed his annoyance at the rumours - because they hurt his fans. The heartthrob said:

"I'm not leaving One Direction. It's a shame because rumours like that upset our fans. I enjoy being in the band more than ever."

The 'Live While We're Young' man added that the group's current UK tour is going well, with the boys able to enjoy their own space. He said:

"The tour is going great. It's like having four brothers. We spend all of our time together, but we do our own things once in a while."

The group have been active since forming on the X Factor in 2010 and it seems the lads haven't fallen out yet.

Speaking to We Love Pop, Horan said that the quintet are at a point where they know where to stop when it comes to joking with or irritating their bandmates.

However, it seems petty squabbles do break out whilst the boys are together. The Irishman said:

"We've got to the stage now where we know each other's boundaries. If there's an argument, it's over what's on the radio, or, 'Turn up the window, it's freezing'."

He continued: "Zayn has this thing about getting into the car at six o'clock in the morning and turning the window down. I'm like, 'Are you actually serious?!'."

One Direction meanwhile are currently on the UK leg of their Take Me Home world tour and are due to play in Glasgow tonight (April 12).

The boyband are sitting on fortunes of £5m each, according to the paper, which means they have a combined wealth of £25m.

The lads have enjoyed huge success across the world and their album, concert and merchandise sales have all contributed to their large income.

However, the group's members are some way behind the top stars in the newspaper's list of Britain and Ireland's richest young musicians.

Adele has topped the list with an estimated fortune of £30m, with Cheryl Cole in second place with £14m.

Leona Lewis and Katie Melua meanwhile are said to have fortunes of £12m.

The lads have often showed off their appreciation of the beautiful game, with Louis Tomlinson owning a local team and Niall Horan a well-known Derby fan.

The group took time out recently to visit Newcastle FC whilst in the city, greeting their players and fans.

However, it was Harry Styles that caught most of the attention after he stripped off and posed for a photo topless alongside Tulisa's boyfriend Danny Simpson.

The 'Kiss You' stars donned replica kits and enjoyed a kickabout as their list of celebrity friends grew even longer.

The picture features the boys Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne sat in a production room in directors-style chairs and wearing what appear to be 3D glasses.

The documentary is being directed by Morgan Spurlock - director of Oscar-nominated documentary 'Supersize Me' - who has been tailing the band on tour around the world and picking up hours of exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.  The film is set for release at the end of this summer on August 30th.

This time, at another UK concert, the boys were caught name-checking Styles’ ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift during a performance.

In a video taken by a fan during the band’s gig in Newcastle on Monday, the country pop singer’s name can just be heard after Styles sings the line “I’m in love with you” during the group’s hit song ‘Little Things’ – it’s not clear which of the band members piped in.

Whether he didn’t notice or just chose to carry-on unbothered, Styles just finished the song without any further comment.

The boyband have performed at numerous massive venues over the last two years, including a number of shows at London's gigantic O2 Arena.

However, the singer told We Love Pop that he often gets flustered by playing gigs where there are a lot of fans. He said:

"I'm quite claustrophobic and I don't like everyone crowding around and shouting the same questions."

Horan continued: "I get a little bit scared sometimes. It's all good as we've got a good security team."

Next up on One Direction's tour schedule is Glasgow's 10,000+ capacity venue SECC.

Some members of One Direction became friends with the Canadian megastar whilst in the US last year, spending time at his house.

Speaking on Twitter, Horan said that he misses Bieber's director Alfredo Flores, revealing:

"Just spoke to my bro @AlfredoFlores! Miss those guys! can't wait t hang again!"

This prompted a fan to question whether the Irishman secretly meant that he misses Bieber, to which he replied:

"Yeh that's wat I was implying! I miss both of em!"

As previously reported, the girl group recently unveiled the promo clip for their new single 'How Ya Doin'?', which features a cameo from Missy Elliott.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday (April 9), Malik praised the group's video, which features girlfriend Perrie Edwards. He said:

"Gotta watch the new @LittleMixOffic video !! It's sick and missy Elliot's bars are hard ! Haha x :)."

Not forgetting his lady, however, the One Direction star then added: "Oh and p.s. perrie is quite fit too ;)."

Reports emerged recently that the heartthrob singer was in a relationship with aspiring Irish model Zoe Whelan.

She reportedly denied the rumours on Twitter before deactivating her account after receiving angry tweets.

However, Horan himself has cleared up the rumours, responding to a fan on Twitter who asked if he had a secret girlfriend:

"I don't!"

The 'Kiss You' star meanwhile also revealed to a fan what his most embarrassing tour moment has been, tweeting:

"I had tight jeans on and I went to go on the 2nd level of The stage and fell over hahah."

The images were posted to the band's group Twitter page in the past hour and show them performing on stage during a lively number and singing one of their songs in Newcastle while sitting down. Member Niall Horan can also be seen playing an acoustic guitar (shown below) during a cover of Wheatus' 'Teenage Dirtbag'.

The 'Little Things' superstars will perform in Newcastle for the next two nights (April 9, 10) at the Metro Arena and are then set to move on to Glasgow (April 12).

The lads' final date in the UK will be on April 20 in Manchester and from there they will head across the channel to Paris, France and then onto Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

During a performance of the band’s smash hit ‘What Makes You Beautiful’, Harry took the lead vocals while Liam handed his microphone to bandmate Louis before tugging down Harry’s skinny jeans in front of the cheering crowds.

The sold-out crowd screamed as poor Harry desperately tried to pull up his trousers with one hand and gripping his microphone in the other.

Such pranks are not uncommon among the 1D lads. In fact, Zayn Malik tore off Harry’s shirt during a performance in Chicago just last year.

The heartthrob has opened up about a surreal moment when he mistook an admirer for an aggressive bully.

Speaking to Top of the Pops magazine he explained: "I was out partying in my home town, and there was a big, muscly, scary fan that came up to me."

He added: "I thought he was going to beat me up and take my lunch money. But actually he was saying that he liked the band and he was really cool!"

Tomlinson is not short of attention from fans, although he is well known for his relationship with Eleanor Calder.

The star recently revealed his perfect date.

He said: "It's nice sometimes to just do the normal things, like go out for a meal or go to the cinema. If I were to do something a bit more crazy and spontaneous, I think going to a theme park for a date would be fun. I've never done that, so it would be good."

Speaking recently to Look Magazine, the singer discussed the band’s world tour and the group’s wild popularity.  Despite having a predominantly female fanbase, Harry rubbished the idea that he was a sex symbol.

 "I don't think I can ever get used to any amount of attention I get," said Harry. "In no way am I a sex symbol, definitely not."

Many One Direction fans would likely be quick to disagree. A photo of the singer lying in bed was posted to Twitter recently, and saw young female fans gushing over the idea of waking up next to him.

In the interview, Harry also talked about the band’s ‘Take Me Home’ world tour. “The tour is great. Loving it," he said. "The crowds are fantastic and touring is the most fun part. We're all getting on really well."
