One Direction star Liam Payne was among the famous faces at a basketball match in London last night (January 16).

The singer was spotted alongside girlfriend Sophia Smith as the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks went to battle in the NBA Global Games match at London's O2 Arena.

The Nets ultimately won and Payne looked on wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans.

Other well-known faces at the event included Ellie Goulding, who sat next to model Cara Delevingne. The former was sitting next to McFly's Dougie Poynter, whilst the latter was with Jourdan Dunn.

Payne's appearance meanwhile comes only days after he apologised on Twitter for being pictured on a rooftop ledge. The One Direction man said:

"You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. I regret being there and having a photo taken. It was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do. I am sorry, and do not endorse any fans trying to repeat this, as it is extremely dangerous."
