One Direction’s Niall Horan has been opening up about what he is looking for in a girlfriend.

Speaking to Teen Now magazine the Irish heartthrob revealed that he is hoping to find a girl who is interested in him for who he is rather than his fame.

Niall explained: “You have to find the one who likes you for being normal, not just for being in One Direction.”

He added: “I’m still waiting for her to come around. I am the same as anyone. I’m just waiting for the right person to stand in front of me.”

The 20-year-old pop star isn’t ruling out dating fans either as he revealed: “If she’s a fan of the band then that’s a bonus.”

However the ‘Midnight Memories’ singer is not feeling insecure about his current single status as he declared:

“Being single doesn’t mean that you’re weak. It means you’re strong enough to wait for what you deserve.”

Victoria’s Secret Model Barbara Palvin recently denied rumours that she is dating Niall Horan. “We’re mates,” she confirmed.
