Liam Payne believes male fans will like next One Direction album

Liam Payne reckons the next One Direction record will appeal to males.

The pop group has a historically female-based audience, but it seems more guys might be game for the band's next record.

The quintet took things a bit rockier on their 2013 album 'Midnight Memories' and it appears they will continue that style on their follow-up.

Speaking to Capital FM at the 2014 BRIT Awards, Payne said: "People say we don't work hard and it's all a game and whatever. We just wanna make good music, and this album - honestly, every lad out there tonight who's thinking One Direction are this and that. Literally, next album - pick up our album and see what you feel."

The singer meanwhile recently said that their next record could be their best yet, revealing:

"We're twelve songs into the next album, past this tour. So everybody should still be excited. We've worked very hard on this and this is literally some of the best stuff we've ever come out with."
