One Direction support ISPCC Shield Campaign

UK based boyband One Direction have taken a stand against bullying by being the faces of a new campaign for the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

The ISPCC's Shield Campaign launched yesterday Monday February 24th and will run throughout the month of March, and it aims to support schools and communities by offering ISPCC’s specific 'Shield My School' Anti-Bullying toolkit. Blue 'shield' pins will also be on sale in various retail outlets in Ireland.

The organisation sent One Direction a public message of congratulations following their recent BRITs success, writing on Twitter:

"@onedirection Congrats on your great success @ the Brits.Delighted that you have supported our #ISPCCShield Campaign."

Member Niall Horan then took to his own social networking page and asked his followers to get involved and support the campaign: "Please support! It's very important!"

After the 'Little Things' heartthrob posted the tweet, the ISPCC added: "@NiallOfficial @onedirection Tnks so much for the RT Niall.Makes huge difference in spreading word about #ISPCCShield."
