One Direction unsure if they will record with Pharrell Williams

One Direction have admitted that a proposed collaboration with Pharrell Williams might not happen.

The band's Liam Payne was previously pictured with the 'Happy' hitmaker in a studio in the US and there had been talk that Williams might create a song for the band's next album.

However, the 'You & I' man told the Sunday Telegraph that the band's sound might prove a stumbling block for the 'Blurred Lines' star.

Payne said: "I’m not really sure yet...I’m gonna go and see him. For him it’s hard because our sound is so left field for him. He’s a wonderful guy, I’ve spent a couple of days with him and he’s ace."

One Direction meanwhile performed at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow on Saturday (May 24) despite being scheduled to play in Dublin on the same day.

The band were pictured getting on two different different planes from Scotland, but a rep told the Daily Mail that the group splitting up and getting more than one flight is normal.

They said: "The band often take two planes and it just depends who gets on what plane."
