Police tell Wembley residents to expect "very loud screaming" at One Direction shows

Police in London have taken the unusual step of warning local residents about the levels of noise due to be caused One Direction fans.

The band are playing three shows in the city's Wembley Stadium from June 6 as part of their Where We Are tour and Brent Police are gearing up for a busy few days.

They have told local residents to expect high levels of screaming coming from the stadium, saying:

"Some very loud screaming and singing may take place."

Speaking meanwhile about fan behaviour, they added: "The concerts are a sell out and there are thousands of young females expected to turn up the night before the shows to camp out for the night in order to be first in line to get to the front of the stage.

"Groups of individuals causing anti-social behaviour in the dispersal area will be instructed to leave and not return for a period of 24 hours. If they return and continue to cause problems they can be arrested.

"Anyone found guilty of contravening a direction under a dispersal order can face up to three months imprisonment or a fine of up to £2,500."
