Niall Horan has lavished praise on John Mayer after seeing him perform live.

The US star took to the stage at London's O2 Arena on Monday (June 9) and the One Direction singer was in attendance.

It seems the 'Paradise Valley' man was impressed once more by the songsmith, with Horan taking to Twitter and Instagram after the show to post a photo of himself with Mayer.

He said: "Great to see john tonight! He was unbelievable as per usual!"

Horan meanwhile is currently enjoying some downtime after performing on the UK and Ireland leg of One Direction's Where We Are tour.

The next date on the group's European tour is a show in Stockholm on June 13.
