Louis Tomlinson's Doncaster Rovers takeover held up over image rights

Louis Tomlinson's mooted takeover of Doncaster Rovers has been held up again due to image rights.

The singer is part of a group trying to buy the League One football club and the deal was expected to be announced last Friday (June 6).

However, it was delayed after the One Direction man's management raised concerns over image rights.

It was set to go through today (June 11) but the BBC understands that there is still negotiating to be done over Tomlinson's image rights.

Talks are said to be positive, however, with an agreement on the horizon.

The singer, who has previously played for Doncaster's reserves for charity, is expected to become a co-chairman in a silent partner capacity, with former boss John Ryan assuming full-time responsibility.

The team are currently managed by Paul Dickov and they were relegated to League One from the Championship at the end of last season.
